To protect services and attempt to stimulate investment whilst coping with reducing income but increasing demand is not easy and occaisonally unpopular decisions have to be made. Your presence in the chamber and on audit were very positive and I am in no doubt that you left your mark on Westborough.Nigel Holdcrofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446597545038423081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1582562105265467070.post-61137974709112461232014-06-08T23:07:54.831+01:002014-06-08T23:07:54.831+01:00John, thank you for your kind words, although my s...John, thank you for your kind words, although my short contributions are a mere moment compared to your dedication for homeless people.
Nigel, it one of my regrets that I did not have a real opportunity to speak to you and congratulate you on steering the Town through tough times. We have disagreed on certain aspects on how some of the ‘adjustments’ should be undertaken, but I do not doubt your honesty and integrity in handling these difficult decisions.
Finally, yes, I knew that I was up against it, but I decided early on to make the most of my four years and leave my mark on Westborough, which I think I did.
I trust that you will enjoy your ‘retirement’ as I will mine, my family are certainly pleased to have me back to spend more time with them.
Paul
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17501952072056821098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1582562105265467070.post-72216379425637854792014-06-05T13:44:39.318+01:002014-06-05T13:44:39.318+01:00borrowed time or not but Paul made some important ...borrowed time or not but Paul made some important contributions to the homeless in the ward. Your support to Love Southend and Southend Interfaith Working Group, while minor compared to the big picture is much appreciated. It makes Graham Longley's haul as Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder even more impressive.

NigelNigel Holdcrofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446597545038423081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1582562105265467070.post-31374236546354649272014-06-05T09:58:24.144+01:002014-06-05T09:58:24.144+01:00The Liberal Democrats lost four seats: Collins, Gr...The Liberal Democrats lost four seats: Collins, Grimwade, Lewin, and Russell.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
